Recycling in Hackney - an overview
Recycling collections from home
Hackney collects recycleables from your home on a weekly basis. Residents are given a green box for recycling glass, paper, tins and cans, card, plastic bottles, household batteries, clothes, shoes textiles, aluminium foil and engine oil.
If you live in a flat on an estate or a high rise property Hackney also provide you with recycling services.
Where there is enough space estates will have two large bins for cans, glass, plastic bottles and cardboard. There will also be another bin collecting paper only.
Where space is limited one recycling bin will be placed for mixed materials, colleting: paper, cans, plastic bottles, cardboard and glass.
Please note it is compulsory to recycle tins and cans, glass, and paper.
